11 Days/ 10 nights

TASHKENT–NUKUS–KALA–KHIVA–BUKHARA–SAMARKAND – SHAKHRISABZ

DAY 1 – SAT – TASHKENT

Tashkent – The Capital of Independent Uzbekistan, the cosmopolitan city in the heart of Central Asia, the center of Silk Road culture.

AM arrival at Tashkent International Airport. Transfer to your hotel.

Tour of the Capital:

  • Khazrat Imam Complex; consisting of Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum; Barak Khan Madrasah; Tillya Sheik Mosque; Khazrat Imam Mosque; and Museum of Islamic Books with Koran of Caliph Othman from 7th c
  • Chorsu Bazaar and Kukeldash Madrasah;
  • Museum of Applied Arts;

Overnight at hotel.

DAY 2 – SUN – TASHKENT – NUKUS

Breakfast at hotel. Check out from hotel and transfer to domestic airport for flight HY011 07.10-09.45 to Nukus. Upon arrival to Karakalpakstan – Capital of Nukus, transfer for your city tour:

  • Savitskiy State Museum, holding a big collection of early Soviet Avant-garde;
  • Mizdakhan Necropolis;

Transfer to hotel for check in and overnight.

DAY 3 – MON – NUKUS – AYAZ KALA – KHIVA

Breakfast and check out from the hotel.

Depart to the land of ancient civilizations in Ellik Kala District. Visit Forts of Toprak Kala, Kizil Kala and Ayaz Kala. Continue journey to Khiva – ancient capital of Khorezm (Khwarazma -“The Land of the Sun”). Upon arrival check in to hotel. Time free at leisure. Dinner at local restaurant.

Overnight at hotel.

DAY 4 – TUE – KHIVA

Breakfast at hotel. Tour to splendid historical UNESCO heritage site – Ichan-Kala Complex:

  • Muhammad Amin khan Madrasah and Kalta Minar,
  • Kunya Ark, and Museum of Zindan, Muhammad Rahim khan Madrasah,
  • Mausoleum of local Saint Pakhlavan Makhmud, and Shergazi khan Madrasah,
  • Minaret and Madrasah of Islam Khodja, and Djuma Mosque,
  • Allakuli khan Madrasah and Caravan Saray, and Tash Khauli Palace and Harem.

Enjoy your free time to take a walk through the old streets of Ichan-Kala.

DAY 5 – WED – KHIVA – BUKHARA

Breakfast and check out from hotel.

Start the journey to Bukhara through the Kyzyl-Kum desert, the second largest desert in Central Asia after Kara-Kum. Arrive to Bukhara, check in to hotel. Dinner at local restaurant.

Overnight at hotel.

DAY 6 – THU – BUKHARA

Breakfast at hotel.

City tour of Bukhara, the old center of Tajik culture, where locals still speak Tajik language the dialect of Farsi. Explore one of the gems of Islamic architecture, the center of Mediaeval Islamic Education.

  • The Ark Citadel, and Bolo-Khauz Mosque,
  • Samanid Mausoleum, and Mausoleum of Chashma-Ayub,
  • Kalon Complex consisting of Minaret, Mosque and Mir-Arab Madrasah,
  • Madrasah Of Ulugbek, and Madrasah of Abdul-Aziz khan,
  • Trade domes, and Magoki-Attor mosque,
  • Lyabi-Khauz complex consisting of Nadir-Divan Begi Madrasah and Khanaka, Kukeldash Madrasah;

Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 7 – FRI – BUKHARA

Breakfast at hotel.

Spend another day in this marvelous city of the Silk Road. Explore outskirts of Bukhara, spiritual sites and Russian Heritage sites:

  • Complex of Bakhautdin Nakshband, once a home for dervishes.
  • Summer Palace of the last rulers of Bukhara – Sitorai-Mokhi-Khosa, a gem of Russian architecture,
  • Chor Bakr Necropolis; and Chor Minor Madrasah;

Return back to the city and enjoy time at bazaars to feel the spirit of The Silk Road.

In the evening attend Folklore performance at old Madrasah. Dinner at local restaurant.

DAY 8 – SAT – BUKHARA – SAMARKAND

After breakfast check-out from the hotel. Depart to Samarkand by road. En route visit:

  • Vabkent Minaret, and elegant construction used during the The Silk Road;
  • Gizjduvan Ceramics Workshop; and Rabat Malik Caravensari and Sardoba;

Upon arrival to Samarkand check-in to hotel. City tour in Samarkand, the capital of the Great Empire of Tamerlane, city praised by Medieval poets and historians:

  • Gur-Emir mausoleum, and Ruhabad Mausoleum;
  • Registan Square consisting of Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillya Kari Madrasah,
  • Museum of History of Samarkand based in Mansion of Bukharian Jew;

Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 9 – SUN – SAMARKAND – SHAKHRISABZ – SAMARKAND

Breakfast at hotel. Depart to Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Tamerlane. Arrive to Shakhrisabz and start city tour by visiting the magnificent architectural monuments of Timurids period:

  • Remains of Ak-Saray palace of Tamerlane, and Chorsu trade dome.
  • Dorus Saodat complex, Mausoleum of Djehangir; and Khazrat Imam Mosque;
  • Dorut Tilovat complex, Kok Gumbaz Mosque; Mausoleum of Sheikh Shamsiddin Kulal; and Mausoleum Gumbazi Saidon;

Return back to Samarkand. Time at leisure. Dinner at local restaurant.

DAY 10 – MON – SAMARKAND – TASHKENT

Breakfast at hotel.

Check out from hotel and continue tour of Samarkand:

  • Bibi-Khanum Mosque; and Siyab bazaar;
  • Museum of Ulugbek observatory with the original instrument sextant,
  • Museum of Archaeology of Afrosiyab; Saint Daniels Tomb;
  • Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, and Silk Paper Workshop;

Transfer to Railway Station for the Bullet Train “Afrosiyab” to Tashkent. Upon arrival transfer to dinner at local restaurant.

DAY 11 – TUE – TASHKENT

Breakfast at hotel.

Check out and Continue tour in modern part of Tashkent:

  • Independence Square; Victory Memorial; and Duke Romanov Mansion;
  • Amir Temur Square and Museum; Monument of Courage;
  • Experience Tashkent Metro;

Early lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
